Who I am

This website is run by James Howes, trading as Howes IT. I'm responsible for any personal information you give me through this site. You can contact me at James@Howes-IT.co.uk.

What I collect

• Contact form: your name, email address and anything else you choose to tell me, such as your company, phone number and message.
• IT Value Check and 40-Point IT Review: your answers stay in your browser. They're only sent to me if you choose to submit them with your contact details.

How I use it

I use your information to reply to you, to prepare anything you've asked for (such as a written breakdown of your results), and to discuss how I might help. If you've ticked the box to receive occasional ideas by email, I'll send those too, and you can unsubscribe at any time. I rely on your consent and on my legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.

I don't sell your information or share it with anyone for their own marketing.

Where it's stored

The website and its forms are hosted by Netlify, which stores form submissions on my behalf. The site uses fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers to load them.

How long I keep it

I keep enquiries for as long as needed to respond and for a reasonable period afterwards, and delete them when they're no longer needed. If you become a client, records are kept in line with my contractual and legal obligations.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information I hold about you, or object to how I use it, by emailing James@Howes-IT.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

This site doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. The IT Value Check uses your browser's temporary session storage to remember your answers if you refresh the page; this is cleared when you close the tab.
